The University of Virginia

The Central Virginia running camp will take place on the University of Virginia campus in Charlottesville, Virginia. The campus is located 70 miles west of Richmond, Virginia and 110 miles southwest of Washington, DC. The University of Virginia is home to many NCAA intercollegiate national champions and ranks among the best intercollegiate athletic departments in the country. Campers live on the UVA campus and run at various locations throughout Charlottesville, which was recognized by Runners World as one of the top-20 running towns in the nation.

Panorama

Campers will have access to Panorama Farms, home of the University of Virginia's cross country course and training venue for the Cavalier distance runners. Located six miles from the University, the 850 acre privately owned farm boasts eight miles of cut grass trails with good footing as well as 30 miles of wooded mountain bike trails.


Darden Towe Park

Campers will also run at Darden Towe Park on the Rivanna Trails that stretch 25 miles around the town of Charlottesville. They will also have direct access to the Rivanna Trails from the dorms to accomodate morning runs.



Walnut Creek Park

Walnut Creek Park provides 15 miles of wooded running trails and a lake that campers have the opportunity to swim in after their afternoon run to cool off.


Transportation

Campers will be provided with transportation to Panorama and other local parks for their daily runs.
